Where are the Donnachaidh Lands in Scotland?
Centrally located; Perthshire, Pitlochry, Rannoch, Blair Atholl where the Struan Kirk, our Clan seat is and Bruar where Clan Museum and Gift shop are at the base of the Falls of Bruar. The base of the clans most beautiful double waterfalls that was a favorite spot of Robert Burns. On these lands especially in the Bruar is where our Bracken Fern grows.
Struan Kirk, Clan Seat
The Struan Kirk is the center of the Clan. Located in the quiet Old Struan area is a picturesque church and cemetery housing the rare Pictish stone. Here Sunday services are held and the Annual General Meeting.
The Little House Shop, Clan Museum, Home of Clan Donnachaidh,
Located in the heart of Clan country at The Bruar just north of Blair Atholl, Scotland UK is the The Little House Shop Gift Shop and housing the Clan Museum. Here are displays of all tartans, history, weapons used at Culloden, the Chieftain’s ancestral tree, clan records, hand crafted items and a variety of treasures such the Stone of the Standard.
The Falls of Bruar
At the base of The Bruar visitors area begins the trail to one of the Clan’s most beautiful spots “The Falls of Bruar”. There is a hiking trail not to be missed regardless of the weather. The double falls are rich with flora and fauna indigenous to the area. It is such a inspirational area that even the famous Bard, Robbie Burns wrote about the beautiful landscape in his poem “The Humble Petition of Bruar Water”.
